Rechargeable LED Safety Dog Collar

Walk a dark-coated dog down an unlit lane in January and you spend the whole walk listening for cars. This is a nylon collar with a fibre-optic strip running its full length, so the light shows from the side as well as head-on. That is the side a car actually approaches from.

It charges over USB. No button batteries to prise out with cold fingers in the dark.

Three settings
Constant glow for steady visibility. Fast flash at road crossings. Slow flash on quiet routes, when you want the charge to go further.

Size — measure the neck, then leave two fingers of room

• S — neck 34–41 cm
• M — neck 37–46 cm
• L — neck 41–52 cm
• XL — neck 42–56 cm

All four sizes are 2.5 cm wide. The ranges overlap on purpose — if your dog falls between two, take the larger one and pull it in.

In the box
The collar and a USB charging cable. Four colours: multicolour, blue, pink, red.

Worth knowing
There is a small plastic tab under the switch that stops the light flickering in transit. Pull it out before the first charge, or you will think it is broken. And this is a visibility collar, not a tracker — it makes your dog easier to see. It does not tell you where they are.
