Paw Cleaner Cup

Autumn walks end the same way: a dog on the doormat with four brown feet and a clean hallway behind it. This cup sorts the feet out before they get to the hallway.

Fill it a third of the way with water, put the lid on, push one paw in through the opening and turn the cup a few times. Rows of soft silicone bristles inside work the mud out from between the pads. Take the paw out, dry it with a towel, next paw. A full set takes about a minute once your dog is used to it.

It is light enough to keep in the car or by the door, and nothing needs plugging in or refilling with cleaner — plain water does the job.

Which size

• S — small breeds with small paws
• M — medium dogs
• L — large dogs

The paw should go in without squeezing. If you are unsure, the photos show the cup openings next to real paws — between two sizes, take the larger one.

Worth knowing
Some dogs are suspicious of the cup the first few times. A treat after each paw usually settles that within a week. Rinse the cup and let it dry with the lid off so it does not start to smell.
